Weekend itineraries: holiday season is coming
Strathcona County has recently begun work on the Tourism Strategy and Implementation Plan, which will emphasize the tourism industry. The weekly tourism itinerary blogs are published on social media and the Strathcona County website. This has begun the process of increasing the SEO of tourism in Strathcona County and Sherwood Park to prepare for the future success of this diversification. The blogs have been growing in success with viewership numbers increasing and the content being found on the first pages of a Google search.
Adventure Guide
Adventure for the day
The Economic Development and Tourism department of Strathcona County releases an annual publication of a director of businesses within Strathcona County, recently renamed the Adventure Guide. This year's issue included articles submitted by tourism partners to showcase assets within the community. The inclusion of these articles allows visitors the opportunity to effectively plan their time in Strathcona County while simultaneously promoting local businesses and growing partnerships with local stakeholders.

Tourism webpage updates
Strathcona County website
As Strathcona County currently does not have a tourism-specific website, I have begun an ongoing project of updating existing webpages to better align them with tourism standards. This has included changing to a more image-heavy focus on the pages, along with working with internal web teams to improve the functionality of the site. These pages are updated on a regular schedule to help align with seasonal changes, as well as helping to increase SEO efforts.
